Some Changes

Well what can I say? The response to this little site has been pretty overwhelming! I never expected that we’d have a new post every day, but we’ve now got enough posts in our queue to last a month!

We’ve had some amazing submissions, proving that even with an already great starting point for design, there’s no reason to hold back on your creativity. It’s also amazing to see the range of people choosing to use Bootstrap: one-man-bands all the way up to large corporations, like NASA.

@mdo and @fat have done a great job of not just creating an amazing open source tool, but also interacting with and listening to the community that has popped up around their creation.

Their attention is one of the main reasons why Bootstrap is on the verge of version 2.0 - a significant improvement on the existing toolkit with lots of new features, like button groups, custom dropdowns, bundled icons, side navigation and more…

You may have noticed that we’re now running off our own domain now (builtwithbootstrap.com) instead of the Tumblr subdomain. We’re staying on Tumblr because we’ve built up a great audience so far and it’s continuing to grow.

Along with this we now only accept photo submissions. We know that photo submissions get more click-throughs and are certainly more interesting in reader’s Tumblr feeds, but it also saves us from having to go through our submissions and grab images.

We also want to start cataloguing what features of the toolkit people are making use of. So we’ve added a bunch of tags that you can select when making a submission, so use them judiciously.

We’ve had some great feedback about the site so far and we’re absolutely open to your ideas, so if you’ve got any suggestions please let us know!

Personally I’d just like to say thank you to everyone for their submissions and support. I hope you’re looking forward to 2012 and have lots of cool projects planned, all using Bootstrap of course ;)
